genitus – perfect passive participle of gīgnō, -ere.
42. captīvā … et ancillā – modifies fēminā.
subēgit – perfect of subagō, -ere.
montēs trēs, Quirīnālem, Vīminālem, Ēsquilīnum, urbī adiūnxit – Servius is said to have expanded the pomerium, the sacred boundary of the city, to include the Quirinal, Viminal, and (part of) the Esquiline hills. This does not correspond to the so-called Servian Walls, which were actually constructed in the fourth century BCE. See Appendix A: Maps.
